Technical Writer, all levels

Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking Jr. Technical Writers (4) to support the Defense Intelligence Agency's (DIA) Enterprise Cybersecurity Tools Program. The positions are open at:

• Joint Base Anacostia-Bolling (JBAB), Washington, DC
• College Park, MD
• Reston, VA

Job Description:

• Develop and maintain documentation for processes such as deployment diagrams, standard operating procedures, manuals, instructions, testing, user documentation/guides, and training guides.
• Write and edit technical documentation for hardware and software to include installation, configuration, and how-to documentation.
• Create code documentation for software; produce implementation guides and end-user guides for capabilities; provide field, data definition, and data flow documentation; and format technical publications from pamphlets, technical drawings, and consultations with technical personnel and other available resources.

Requirements:

• TS/SCI w/ability to obtain a CI polygraph
• 2+ years of experience as a technical author or editor of technical or scientific information
• Excellent written communications skills, including grammar and document formatting
• Knowledge of basic concepts and writing technical copy for various types of documents
• Ability to assist with development (e.g., preparing and maintaining) of operations documentation, user guides and manuals, and technical publications and author smaller documents with guidance
• Ability to gather technical information and prepare written text
• Ability to maintain a current internal documentation library
• Ability to use multiple word processing and presentation tools, including Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Visio
• Ability to prepare reports, responses, and briefings targeted to a wide range of audiences
• IAT Level II certification (CCNA-Security, CySA+, GICSP, GSEC, Security+ CE, CND, or SSCP)
• AA or AS degree; or 2 years of experience with technical writing may be substituted for an Associate’s degree
