General Summary of Position Unit Highlights Nurses on Unit 4E (Surgical Oncology) specialize in all upper torso abdominal and colorectal surgical procedures. Specialize in all forms of abdominal cancers not often seen in other settings, such as peritoneal adenocarcinoma and advanced gynecology oncological cancers. We welcome patients from a variety of medical and surgical specialties. As a multispecialty surgical unit, the 4E patient populations includes Intraparietal Chemotherapy, monitoring radiation patients, total parenteral nutrition and patient-controlled analgesics, in addition to other surgical services This 22 bed unit is a great place to become an expert surgical nurse and be exposed to a variety of specialized post-operative surgical nursing skills. The staff and nurses on 4E are highly skilled, motivated, and committed to excellence We strive to provide safe, quality care by maintaining a patient-centered approach and leveraging multi-disciplinary collaboration. The cytoreductive surgery was developed at MedStar Washington Hospital Center. The 4E Nurses also provide nationally certified care to our bariatric surgical patient population Come join our team where we pride ourselves on teamwork, fun, and professional development! *Various scheduling options available* Key Responsibilities As a Clinical Nurse you will deliver proficient nursing care to patients and families whose needs range from uncomplicated to highly complex.
