Overview

TRC is seeking a Project Scientist for our Lakewood, CO office. This position will work on various public and private projects throughout the Colorado region.

Responsibilities

  • Support efforts to identify and develop new business opportunities with existing clients, and delivery of responsive, high quality building sciences and industrial hygiene services.
  • Prepare proposals and perform inspection for regulated or hazardous materials that may include asbestos, microbial, lead, PCBs, etc.
  • Perform water leak assessments and prepare recommendations/scope of work documents to support mitigation efforts.
  • Perform project oversight of demolition, abatement and other related activities to include coordination with stakeholders, completion of project documentation.
  • Collect air samples of various types that may be required by various regulatory agencies and prepare associated project documentation and chain of custodies.
  • Interact between client and contractors.
  • Work with regulatory agencies.
  • Read and implement the requirements detailed in project specifications and drawings.
  • Prepare proposals, reports, project specifications, plans, and drawings.
  • It is preferable that the candidate has the ability to conduct and prepare Phase I Environmental Site Assessments (ESAs), Phase II ESAs, and Spill Prevention Control and Countermeasure (SPCC) Plans.

Qualifications

  • Must be able to read project specifications and drawings.
  • Ability to travel to other states and/or countries to perform/support various projects that may be for a day or up to two-weeks at a time.
  • Prior experience in various aspects of inspections and abatement oversight projects is required with preference given to those that also have experience with demolition oversight.
  • Must be a good communicator and a team player.
  • The following certifications are required: Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment Certified Asbestos Inspector and Air Monitoring Specialist.
  • 40-Hour HAZWOPER Training Certification and associated 8-Hour Refresher is a plus, but is not required.
  • Must have a valid driver's license and a reliable means of transportation.
  • For out of country work, ability to obtain a passport within one month of hire date.

In accordance with local law, the following compensation range is applicable for the job and location associated with this requisition: $60,000-$63,000. Compensation will vary based upon experience, education, skill level, and other compensable factors.
