Description

Position Overview:

The Market Director, Outside Plant is a senior leadership role in an Extenet market, responsible for all aspects of network deployment from capital budget, schedule creation through network activation and delivery into ongoing operations. The incumbent will be directly accountable for a capital program generated from the sales process, including network design and engineering, site acquisition, construction management, project and budget management. The Market Director will also be responsible for developing and managing a strong team of construction and project management professionals. Extenet is targeting candidates residing in the in Las Vegas and/or SoCal region.

Responsibilities

  • Sales Process Support: Support the sales process with market level expertise required to develop quality designs, cost estimates and project schedules.
  • Full-cycle Project Management: End-to-end responsibility for delivering outside plant projects from contract execution through close-out.
  • Project Budget Mangement: Accountable and responsible for capital budgets assigned to each project in assigned region.
  • Contract and Supplier Selection: Accountable for selection of contractors and suppliers to fulfill project requirements.
  • Regional Travel: Willingness to travel regularly to project sites within the assigned region and occasional travel to other regions or corporate office as needed.
  • Resource Management: Performs resource planning, staffing and staff development.
  • Customer Relationships: Own customer relationships related to deployment activity within the region and service as the first point of escalation for customer issues.
  • Leadership: Provide leadership to a cross-functional team of market-assigned personnel including, but not limited to, Project Managers, Construction Managers and External Relations Associates.
  • Cross-functional Team Collaboration: Work collaboratively with peers and colleagues across regions and cross-functionally.
  • Additional Duties: Undertake additional responsibilities and tasks as needed to support the dynamic needs of the OSP-West team.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or construction management strongly preferred; will substitute equivalent experience if needed.
  • Master's degree in engineering, Construction Management or Business Administration desirable but not required.
  • Minimum 15 years of telecommunications/wireless construction or network operations experience, managing a large portfolio consisting of multiple projects across a geography or product portfolio.
  • Knowledge of outside plant construction techniques (aerial and underground).
  • Capital budget and project management of a multi-million-dollar program.

Skills And Abilities

  • Leadership and Management: Demonstrated leadership and management experience to include coaching and developing of employees.
  • Problem Resolution and Communication: Ability to problem solve, communicate and collaborate effectively within and outside the organization.
  • Software Expertise: Strong skills in MS Office and Site Tracker (or a comparable project management software).
  • Travel: Travel will be expected throughout the US by car and/or plane.
  • Construction Process Expertise: Strong knowledge of construction management process.
  • Acquisition Procedure Expertise: Knowledge of site acquisition procedures, including regulatory and permitting processes.
  • Blueprints Knowledge: Able to read and understand blueprints.
