Position Purpose

The training manager role is responsible for identifying training needs, developing training content, and delivering training programs, and evaluating their effectiveness. The training manager role will formulate partnerships across all departments to understand current, near term and future training needs and develop strategies to address training gaps. The training manager will understand business operational goals and objectives with a keen interest in producing targeted and tangible results by creating effective and efficient training programs and methods.

Principal Responsibilities And Duties

  • Develop, implement, and deliver training programs to upskill the workforce and drive employee performance and retention.
  • Partner with field leadership to create training content and materials to ensure a detailed understanding of training subjects, methods, and processes.
  • Continually research methods and techniques in workplace training and remain up to date on developments within the industry and competitors.
  • Administer tests after the completion of training courses to determine the effectiveness of training strategies.
  • Create printed and instructional materials to be distributed during trainings.
  • Actively seek current training methods and best practices to facilitate training employees.
  • Conduct regular meetings with senior leadership to identify subjects be addressed or areas in need of additional instruction.
  • Create internal marketing materials to be distributed throughout the company to announce training programs and details.
  • Select and manage resources, including working with both internal employees and training vendors to develop and deliver training.
  • Manage the technologies required to develop, manage, and deliver training.
  • Keep abreast of training trends, developments, and best practices.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Job Qualifications

  • Experience analyzing company needs, lesson planning, development, and implementation.
  • Extensive knowledge teaching theory for creating effective creating instructional materials.
  • Instructional experience in a group business setting.
  • Proficient using Microsoft Suite.
  • Strong understanding of business goals and standards for customer service.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with senior management and other departments.
  • Experience developing yearly training plans and materials for all departments throughout the company.
  • Ability to effectively organize and manage multiple training initiatives simultaneously.

Experience And Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in training and development, human resources, business management, or related field preferred.
  • High school diploma and/or GED required.
  • A minimum of ten (10) plus years’ experience in training and content development required.
  • A minimum of two (2) years’ experience in training and development management required.
  • Proven track record in developing and executing successful training programs and initiatives.

Physical Requirements

  • Work is performed in an office environment and requires the ability to operate standard office equipment.
  • Able to travel at least 50% - 75% of the time.
  • Ability and willingness to travel to company sites in-state and/or out-of-state as needed.
  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds at times.
  • Frequently standing, talking, walking, sitting, lifting, twisting, bending, and use repetitive motions.
  • Occasionally working in extreme cold, heat/sun, temperature change, wetness, and humidity.
