Job Description

POSITION SUMMARY

This internship is designed to introduce candidates to a career as a mechanical, electrical, or plumbing designer. Interns will assist Brandt engineers and fellow interns on assigned tasks as required.

Brandt offers an engaging and meaningful 10-week internship program to learn and expand your capabilities in the construction industry. Gain hands-on, real-world experience and be part of a team that empowers you to learn, participate, and lead.

Responsibilities Include, But Not Limited To

• Complete the competency checklist of assigned responsibilities such as running HVAC load calculations, creating electrical models, producing AGI32 lighting calculations, and gaining basic Revit modeling proficiency.
• Under your mentor’s guidance, develop and complete three SMART goals that align with the job responsibilities.
• Get exposure to departments such as engineering, commissioning, virtual design, and construction.
• Collaborate with fellow interns on a capstone project and present results to key stakeholders.
• Attend required internship program events, jobsite tours, and training.
• Communicate with team members, intern program lead, mentor, and other departments as needed.
• Present achievements and knowledge learned to departmental leads and executive leadership at the summer’s conclusion.
• Perform additional assignments as requested/needed.
  
  

What You’ll Need To Be Successful

• Basic knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems.
• 0-3 years of experience in a related field.
• Punctuality and reliability are a must.
• Attention to detail, the ability to multi-task, and excellent communication skills are all essential to this position.
  
  

What You Bring To The Table

• Pursuing a bachelor’s degree in mechanical, electrical, industrial, civil engineering, or a related degree.
• Entering sophomore, junior, or senior year of applicable degree.
