THE ROLE

Location Note: This is a hybrid position. The Builder Prime Sales Team is located in the greater Denver metropolitan area. Team members come to the company workspace in Broomfield, CO 3 days a week. The SDR Manager will be expected to be present the majority of days that SDRs are in the office.

As a Sales Development Manager at Builder Prime, you will play a pivotal role in driving our growth by shaping and executing our outbound sales strategy. Your focus will consist of recruiting, hiring, training, leading, coaching, and developing a team of SDRs. Your day-to-day responsibilities are managing the generation of high-quality leads, optimizing outreach strategies, tracking and managing your team’s activity, and fostering a culture of success within your team. You will collaborate closely with the sales and marketing teams to ensure alignment with our go-to-market strategy, helping to accelerate Builder Prime's expansion in the home improvement industry.

This role is critical to our company’s success, and you will be very visible to our leadership team as you build the best SDR team in the Home Improvement software industry. The ideal candidate will come in with a proven and successful playbook that they can roll out to their team on Day 1 to drive results for the organization.

THE DAY-TO-DAY

  • Lead and manage a team of SDRs to achieve and exceed lead generation, performance objectives, and qualification targets.
  • Coach and mentor SDRs, ensuring they stay current on industry trends and best practices.
  • Develop and implement effective outreach strategies to engage prospects within our target markets to ensure consistent pipeline creation.
  • Monitor and analyze team performance, using data-driven insights to refine tactics and optimize results.
  • Create and optimize prospecting sequences to maximize outbound efforts.
  • Regularly report on operational key performance indicators (KPIs) to the leadership team.
  • Collaborate with sales and marketing leadership to align SDR efforts with overall sales goals and drive seamless handoff of qualified leads to account executives.
  • Conduct regular training sessions to enhance the team's skills in prospecting, objection handling, and product knowledge.
  • Work closely with the marketing team to ensure campaigns are effectively targeting and engaging potential customers.
  • Stay updated on industry trends and the competitive landscape to inform outreach strategies.
  • Maintain a high level of product knowledge to effectively communicate Builder Prime’s value proposition to prospects.
  • Motivate, incentivize, and recognize team members to drive top performance.
  • Recruit, interview, and onboard new SDRs, ensuring a smooth and effective transition into the team.
  • Conduct regular one-on-one meetings with your team to review performance and provide guidance.

THE MUST-HAVES

  • Proven experience in a sales development or lead generation role, with a strong preference for at least 2-3 years in a management or leadership position.
  • Strong coaching ability - you can diagnose your team's calls and performance, come up with the right coaching plan to improve performance, and can effectively help your SDR implement changes.
  • Strong understanding of sales processes, particularly outbound pipeline generation processes and best practices in the B2B SaaS industry.
  • Excellent leadership and coaching skills, with a track record of developing high-performing teams.
  • Data-driven mindset with the ability to analyze performance metrics and implement strategic improvements.
  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to articulate value propositions clearly and persuasively.
  • Familiarity with CRM tools (e.g., HubSpot) and sales engagement platforms (e.g., Outreach, SalesLoft, AirCall).
  • Passion for the home improvement industry and a desire to help contractors grow their businesses.
  • Extensive cold calling experience, with a solid track record of managing high-performing outbound sales development teams.
  • Strong analytical skills, with experience generating reports and identifying trends in data.
  • A high level of emotional intelligence with excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Has experience in the fast-paced world of startups
  • Can effectively manage through a high degree of organizational change as a startup grows exponentially.
  • Can handle the tough conversations - both with their team, and cross-functionally.

NICE-TO-HAVES

  • 2-3 years in a management or leadership position.
  • Management experience in a hybrid environment.
  • Prior sales experience in home improvement industry or home-adjacent industry.

On-target earnings for this position will range from $115k - $135k, depending on experience. We will discuss the base/variable ratio and payout cadence with candidates selected for screening.
