About the Position:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and motivated Staff Accountant with 1-2 years of experience to join our dynamic finance team. As a Staff Accountant, you will play a crucial role in managing our day-to-day accounting processes all while maintaining and documenting financial controls. This position offers a remote work arrangement with periodic in-office meetings in Boulder, CO. Candidates must be based in Colorado.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Balance Sheet Reconciliations: Perform monthly and quarterly balance sheet reconciliations to ensure accuracy and completeness of financial records.
  • General Ledger Maintenance: Assist in maintaining and updating the general ledger, including posting entries and ensuring accuracy of financial data.
  • Financial Reporting: Support the preparation of financial reports, schedules, and analyses for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Account Analysis: Conduct variance analysis and investigate discrepancies or anomalies in financial statements and reports.
  • Audit Support: Assist with internal and external audit requests and provide necessary documentation and explanations as required.
  • FP&A Support: Assist in the quarterly forecasting process.
  • Assist with SOX control documentation and compliance requirements: Support the preparation and maintenance of SOX control documentation
  • Process Improvement: Identify and recommend improvements to accounting processes and controls to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
  • Ad Hoc Tasks: Perform other accounting and finance-related tasks and projects as assigned


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • 1-2 years of relevant accounting experience, preferably in public accounting or a public company setting.
  • Licensed CPA preferred, but not required
  • Knowledge of NetSuite or similar ERP preferred, but not required
  • Knowledge of Coupa or similar procurement systems preferred, but not required
  • Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft excel and strong ability to efficiently navigate systems involved in the financial process.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to work effectively in a hybrid environment.


Salary range: $74,000 - $94,000, title and salary commensurate with experience
