Description

Tyler Technologies Public Safety Division is currently looking to hire a Software Developer for our Enforcement Mobile’s Interface team. Located in College Station, TX, Enforcement Mobile serves police and other parts of the Public Safety sector by providing a remote data capture solution for citations and other field related data. As our Software Developer, you will be responsible for participating in development, maintenance, and enhancement of business applications used for a two-way data interface with third party stakeholders. You will participate in development and project efforts as assigned within the business unit and utilize various technology platforms. You will be expected to collaborate with business partners, and other technical staff to identify user requirements, assess available technologies, recommend solution options, and configure our solution to meet the specific needs of client-side stakeholders within and outside of Tyler.

Candidates must be willing to work out of the College Station, TX office. Remote work is not available for this position.

Responsibilities

  • Design and/or develop data exchange interfaces between our system and various third parties inside and outside Tyler to meet specifications.
  • Assure solution integrity through review and testing.
  • Meet deadlines for assigned tasks and efforts, coordinating within and outside the business unit.
  • Communicate with peers and customers, when necessary, throughout all stages of development of the solution.
  • Prepare and modify documentation maintained for each solution.
  • Research and incorporate new technologies into our interface and software design.
  • Maintain confidentiality and adhere to company policies along with all relevant laws when exposed to protected client information.

Qualifications

  • Understand relational databases and query languages, specifically Microsoft SQL Server. mySQL, SQLite, & PostgreSQL a plus but not necessary.
  • Experience using Visual Basic and with XML & JSON formats.
  • Familiar with VB.Net, HTML, RESTful APIs, and API design principles.
  • Knowledge of any of the following is a plus: Github, Jira, Confluence, & Microsoft Dynamics CRM.
  • Familiar with Agile Scrum project management framework.
  • Ability to work well both independently and within a team environment.
  • Strong technical abilities and a desire to learn new things.
  • Excellent problem solving, analytical, verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Are efficient, organized, and able to manage multiple projects at once.
  • Thrive in a fast paced, entrepreneurial environment.
  • Research and implement the latest tools, practices, and frameworks.
