Staff Accountant

American National's Mortgage Loan and Real Estate Investments Division is seeking a full-time, Staff Accountant. You will be responsible for property accounting, analysis, and reporting on the investment real estate properties owned by the company, its subsidiaries, and affiliates. *Actively assessing candidates for Associate Accountant-Staff Accountant level, in review of job qualifications. *

Onsite Placement Location: League City, Texas

What You Will Do

• Compile and analyze financial information and maintain procedures, accurately presenting operating results of American National real estate, joint venture, and mineral investments in compliance with GAAP, tax, and management requirements
• Communicate and confirm compliance on a monthly/quarterly basis to property managers through analysis of operating results
• Perform monthly/quarterly analysis including accruals of income and expenses required by GAAP
• Prepare Journal entries that are compliant with GAAP, tax, and company guidelines
• Administer budgeting process for real estate investments
• Arrange various investment schedules in support of controller's department requirements
• Maintain cash management functions for real estate investments
  
  

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance.
• Accounting and/or financial analysis experience
• Basic understanding of GAAP accounting
• Proficient in Excel / Yardi and/or SAP experience, preferred
