The Worcester Cultural Academy Charter Public Schools (WCA) seek a dynamic Visual Art Educator to develop and deliver a high-quality art curriculum.

The educator will be responsible for teaching art to Academy students in grades K-5. They will be expected to collaborate with other team members and the administration team to integrate art into the academic program. Successful candidates must share WCACPS’s mission and EL Education’s philosophy, which will provide k-5 students with rigorous, real world learning experiences in a supportive and nurturing school community, helping all students to become reflective inquisitors, articulate communicators, critical thinkers, and skilled problem solvers. Successful candidate should have a collaborative spirit of “we are crew, not passengers.”

We Seek Outstanding Teachers With The Following Qualifications

Accomplishments in the field of visual art; applicants may bring a portfolio of work

Experience designing standards-based curriculum

Strong communication and interpersonal skills

Lead a crew daily, create student displays og high quality work

A high level of personal organization

Motivated to learn to teach in ways that are interactive, hands-on, project-based, and promote self-discovery and critical thinking

Massachusetts educator license in Visual Art or pass the MTEL within 1 year of employment

About The School

Worcester Cultural Academy Charter Public School opened in August 2023 and serves students in grades K-5 . We are chartered for grades K-8. As an EL (Expeditionary Learning) Education school, we believe in hands-on learning that focuses on three levels of student achievement: mastery of knowledge and skills, character, and high-quality work.

Our Adult Crew

At Worcester Cultural Academy, our faculty and staff collaborate and support one another and our students through a number of school-wide activities, events and celebrations. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to lead and participate in these events, ranging from student and family orientation activities to celebrations of learning to graduation. We work together to support the safe and happy arrival and dismissal of our students, collaborate and plan together and use data to guide decision-making.

We are intentional about engaging our faculty and staff in the development of the Academy and of themselves. School-wide professional meetings happen before the start of the school year and throughout.

Compensation: Salary will be competitive and commensurate with experience.
