LHH is looking for a full-time Full Charge Bookkeeper to join our client-growing company in Renton, WA. This position will be a 6-month contract that is fully onsite at the client location.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Accounts Payable & Receivable:
    • Manage vendor payments, process invoices, and maintain accurate AP/AR records.
    • Reconcile bank statements, credit card statements, and vendor accounts.
    • Prepare and issue customer invoices and follow up on outstanding payments.
  • Payroll Management:
    • Process payroll for employees, including deductions, tax filings, and issuing paychecks.
    • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local payroll regulations.
    • Maintain accurate records of employee earnings and benefits.
  • General Ledger Maintenance:
    • Maintain and update the general ledger by recording all financial transactions.
    • Reconcile accounts and prepare adjusting journal entries as needed.
    • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and year-end financial statements.
  • Financial Reporting:
    • Prepare and present accurate financial statements, including profit and loss, balance sheet, and cash flow reports.
    • Assist in the preparation of budgets, forecasts, and variance analysis.
    • Provide financial insights to support decision-making.
  • Tax Preparation & Compliance:
    • Prepare necessary documentation for tax filings and work with external tax accountants.
    • Ensure compliance with state and federal tax regulations and assist with audits.
  • Month-End and Year-End Close:
    • Manage the monthly and year-end closing process, ensuring all financial data is accurate and complete.
    • Conduct regular audits to ensure accuracy and compliance with internal controls.
  • Financial Systems Management:
    • Manage accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero) and ensure its accuracy.
    • Identify and implement process improvements for more efficient financial operations.
    • Train and assist staff on financial procedures as needed.
  • Other Duties:
    • Maintain financial records and documents in an organized and accessible manner.
    • Assist with special projects, financial analysis, and ad hoc reporting as requested by management.
    • Stay updated on accounting principles and compliance regulations.
Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field (preferred).
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of bookkeeping/accounting experience, preferably in a full-charge capacity.
  • Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero) and Microsoft Excel.
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) and financial reporting.
  • Excellent attention to detail, organizational, and time-management skills.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work collaboratively.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with integrity and discretion.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with payroll systems and tax filing.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Familiarity with industry-specific accounting practices (if applicable).

Compensation: $25-$30/hour DOE
