This position is a hybrid role which requires the employee to work in the office every Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday.


Job Summary


The Director, Marketing is responsible for providing thought leadership, strategic direction, and operational management for Dealer communications and events, corporate branding, internal communications, and public relations activities.


Combining big-picture thinking, with hands-on experience, this role will leverage external competitive market insights, coupled with internal business knowledge to design and execute marketing strategies that create clear and consistent messaging to internal and external targeted audiences.


Essential Functions

  1. Design and execute Marketing plans that include Dealer communications and events, corporate communications, branding, and public relations programs and initiatives driven by data and market intelligence.
  2. Ensure the Dealer Communications Hub (Dealer Center) is a source of informative and engaging content that drives dealer engagement and satisfaction.
  3. Direct agency partners as required to ensure effective and efficient translation of marketing strategies into activation plans.
  4. Direct dealer events and meetings (including but not limited to Dealer Advisory Board, Regional Dealer Meetings) and speaking engagements.
  5. Create and maintain marketing brand book and tools for organization to ensure consistency in interactions.
  6. Develop metrics and Key Performance Indicators and measure the effectiveness (e.g., rates of penetration, adoption, customer feedback, reach, etc.) of implemented events, initiatives, and programs.
  7. Utilize and mine customer surveys, market research, field intelligence and customer service interactions to identify opportunities for improvement.
  8. Develop and continuously refine company competitive positioning and brand messaging for internal and external audiences across multiple channels (advertising, online, events, social media, field sales, sponsorships).
  9. Ensure that systems and processes are in place to promote and achieve the highest levels of marketing service and satisfaction for internal and external customers.
  10. Manage and coach team members for role performance, career progression and skill development as needed (i.e., set goals, provide performance feedback, and conduct performance reviews).

Experience

  • Marketing experience including Communications, Events, and PR within a corporate environment (10+ years).
  • Designing creative, innovative, effective programs and develop strategies to ensure successful completion.
  • Directing agency resources and suppliers to yield results and maximize return on investment.
  • Spearheading total strategy and execution for customer and industry events to meet marketing and sales goals.
  • Marketing team leadership experience in a digital or solutions B-to-B environment (8+ years).
  • Successfully building a new brand and/or refreshing an existing brand (company, product, or service).
  • Automotive marketing experience for dealer-based products or solutions (8+ years).
  • Total marketing strategy development and execution for trade shows; NADA experience preferred (5+ years).
  • Management experience of 5-10 team members.

  • Exceptional interpersonal and business communication skills (written, verbal, listening).
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
  • Solid people management skills and the ability to create a motivational environment for team members.
  • Knowledge of HR-related principles such as goal setting, discrete communication, and performance management and feedback.


Education

Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business, or equivalent combination of work experience and education

MBA is desirable, but not required
