Key Responsibilities
- Conduct and facilitate comprehensive on-site surveys of nursing homes.
- Observe and assess the quality of resident care delivered.
- Evaluate nursing homes’ adherence to federal and state regulations.
- Serve as the social services expert for the survey team, providing insights and guidance.
- Collaborate with clinical staff in nursing facilities to discuss and enhance program quality.
- Investigate incidents or complaints related to nutritional or social services issues.
- Participate in medical reviews and audits to assess service adequacy for residents.
- Engage in additional program-related activities as required.
- Current Social Worker license in New York.
- Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
- Basic computer proficiency, particularly with Microsoft Office suite.
- Ability to independently conduct assessments and surveys.
- Strong observational and evaluative skills.
- A minimum of two years of experience in nursing home surveillance activities.
- Qualified for the Surveyor Minimum Qualifications Test (SMQT).
- At least two years of clinical experience in a medical setting, preferably in a nursing home.
