We are seeking an experienced Construction Scheduler to join our client's team. The Scheduler will play a key role in planning, developing, coordinating, and supervising all scheduling functions for our projects. You will be responsible for providing critical planning and scheduling services, ensuring that projects stay on track and meet their deadlines.

Key Responsibilities

  • Facilitate the planning and scheduling functions for all construction projects.
  • Utilize MS Project to develop comprehensive project schedules for K-12 and municipal developments, incorporating all relevant tasks, milestones, and dependencies.
  • Collaborate with project managers, superintendents, and stakeholders to gather project details and constraints, ensuring accurate reflection of project timelines.
  • Provide expert advice on planning, schedule analysis, and options for addressing schedule-related challenges.
  • Analyze change orders to assess their impact on the project schedule.
  • Effectively allocate and manage resources for multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Identify potential resource constraints and work with the team to develop solutions that maintain project timelines.
  • Monitor project progress against the established schedule, identifying potential delays and implementing corrective actions as needed.
  • Revise Baseline Schedules to reflect contractual changes.
  • Generate and present regular progress reports, offering insights into schedule performance and potential risks.
  • Identify schedule-related issues and propose strategies to minimize impacts on project timelines.
  • Conduct regular meetings to review project schedules, address concerns, and facilitate coordination among stakeholders.
  • Provide technical direction and support on scheduling software.
  • Develop and implement project scheduling standards and procedures.
  • Perform job-site visits to verify the physical progress of scheduled activities.
  • Travel to job sites as needed to assess and support project schedules.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, or a related field is preferred.
  • 3 to 5 years of experience as a Scheduler, preferably with K-12 and municipal development projects.
  • Strong understanding of project management principles and methodologies.
  • Proficiency in MS Project and demonstrated experience in creating and managing complex project schedules.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to address schedule-related challenges.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration across teams.
  • Attention to detail and a proactive approach to identifying and resolving potential issues.

Work Environment/Physical Requirements

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
  • Ability to walk, bend, kneel, lift, stretch, and sit as needed.
  • Flexibility to work extended hours, including Saturdays, as dictated by scheduling needs.
  • Must be able to wear required personal protective equipment (hard hat, safety vest, safety glasses, and safety-toed boots) when visiting job sites.
  • Perform physical demands, including working in various weather conditions (heat, cold, rain, snow), climbing ladders and stairs, crouching, kneeling, sitting, reaching, and lifting objects over 50 pounds.
