Controller

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated individual to join our team in Youngstown, OH. This role is pivotal in preparing month-end closings, financial forecasts, and consolidations. You will provide financial advice to the manufacturing department through the study of financial data, meet corporate reporting requirements of the division, manage, train, and evaluate accounting personnel, ensure the accuracy of physical inventory, and control the flow of raw materials, tools, and other assets in the manufacturing department. This position reports directly to the chief operating officer and oversees a team of three. We are looking for someone who is not afraid to be on the floor and comes from an industrial/manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist management with important financial decisions
• Prepare financial documents such as business reports, financial forecasts, and statements to understand the financial state of the business
• Supervise employees in preparing financial reports and budgets
• Monitor the company's financial reports and determine ways to reduce costs
• Keep up-to-date on the financial market to maximize profits and identify new expansion areas
• Ensure the company's financial status meets legal requirements and remains in good standing
• Communicate effectively with co-workers and management about the finances of the business and justify financial recommendations
  
  

Education and Training Requirements

A minimum of a bachelor's degree in economics, business administration, accounting, or finance, and familiarity with GAAP. CPA is preferred but not required. A strong background in inventory accounting and costing is required.
