THE OPPORTUNITY:

As a Visual Merchandising Manager for Dr. Barbara Sturm, you will play a pivotal role in implementing and enhancing the brand's visuals strategy, ensuring impeccable execution, visibility, and brand image across all retailers. This dynamic role encompasses visual merchandising and store design project management, offering a unique opportunity to contribute to the brand's success in the highly competitive luxury beauty market.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Visual Merchandising


  • Evolve the visual representation of the brand in all Points of Sales across the US.
  • Elevate the brand experience with enhanced merchandising elements and tools; including, event animation elements, counter animation elements, launch elements.
  • Coordinate with visual merchandising team, creative, marketing and sales to develop cohesive brand design identity.
  • Have ownership of end-to-end process for campaigns, collateral, new door openings, counter relocations, etc.
  • Management of all VM production, communicating dates to the wider team and ensuring deadlines are being met internally and externally.
  • Partner closely with global to manage the process from design and development to delivery and payment.
  • Global to Local: Adapt the renderings from global at a local level for each respective retailer.
  • Partner with Global VM team to ensure global soft merchandising development meet the North America market needs & requirements.
  • Be well-versed in the visual merchandising strategies for seasonal projects and help innovate visual merchandising details and displays at flagship locations
  • Deliver on brand installations, ensuring sign off by the appropriate leadership teams. Partnering with agencies and large production companies when necessary.
  • Develop a visual merchandising database with information for each retailer store.


Retailer Relationships


  • Maintain and cultivate relationships with retail partners' Visual teams.
  • Create database of key contacts per retailer.
  • Partner with the gondola vendor for the design and implementation of launch updates.


Store Planning


  • Partner with the Global VM team to develop DBS flagship counters and coordinate all project management aspects for construction and installation.
  • Specific responsibilities include:
    • Review all design and construction documents pertaining to each project
    • Establish timetables and drive all parties to complete phases as scheduled
    • Coordinate bid process with VM team
    • Review shop drawings with Global VM team
    • Provide on-site construction supervision
    • Work with internal teams to provide proper merchandising elements for installations


ABOUT YOU:


  • You will have demonstrable experience in Visual Merchandising, within a similar Head Office position, ideally within Beauty.
  • Hands-on professional with 8+ years of visual merchandising and store design experience in a similar or related industry
  • Project management experience; successfully partnering with agencies and external vendors.
  • You have a strong creative eye, with exceptional attention to detail skills with the ability to think commercially.
  • Highly organized and detail oriented
  • Exhibit a keen ability to be proactive as well as handle a multitude of projects at one time
  • Manage high volume workload and prioritize project requirements effectively
  • Great Design Software and Project Management skills. You are able to prioritize and manage multiple deadlines with ease.
  • An excellent communicator: confident and comfortable presenting, able to influence and effectively articulate your point of view. You have exceptional organizational skills and can manage multiple stakeholders with ease!
  • Flexible with travel requirements on an as needed basis.


YOUR AREAS OF KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERTISE:


  • A deep passion and experience in retail/luxury design
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, with a collaborative mindset and the ability to manage the global relationships.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Illustrator, InDesign and Microsoft Office.
  • A keen awareness of current visual merchandising trends and best practices, with a commitment to staying ahead of industry developments.

Compensation:

As required by New York State's salary transparency law, effective November 2022, the expected base salary for this position ranges from $95,000.00 - $115,000.00. Various factors are considered when extending offers, such as relevant skillset, training, years of experience related to the current job description, education, and our organizational structure.
