Responsibilities:

As a Medical Assistant I, you will provide direct patient care, support for medical providers, and administrative support for other clinic functions to ensure our patients receive the highest quality care while maintaining compliance with the established policies and procedures of CleanSlate.

  • Prepares patients for their health care visit with a focus towards excellent customer service
  • Review and/or update medical history
  • Obtain Vital Signs and COWS score
  • Schedules new and recurring patient appointments for mid-level provider (PA or NP), physicians and other clinical providers, as needed
  • Scanning of patient documents into Electronic Health Record
  • Perform medication counts
  • Contact patients via phone as required for general follow up, prescription management, communicate lab results and to schedule appointments
  • Maintain laboratory supplies
  • Maintain medication storage onsite by maintaining storage logs and equipment as required
  • Assist providers with prescription management by communicating with patients and pharmacies
  • Collect urine screen and other laboratory tests including CLIA waived tests
  • Maintains patient confidentiality and protects operations by keeping patient care information confidential
  • All other tasks or projects, as assigned

Qualifications:

This position is subject to a background check for any convictions directly related to its duties and responsibilities. We will consider for employment all qualified applicants with arrest and conviction records and will assess the details of any criminal conviction in a manner consistent with applicable law. No background check will be conducted unless and until a conditional offer of employment has been made to an applicant.

  • High School diploma or equivalent required
  • 1 years’ experience in a fast-paced medical office preferred
  • Successful completion of a Medical Assistant, EMT or CNA program applicants are preferred
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or ability to obtain within 90 days of employment
  • Ability to use and document in our Electronic Medical Record (EMR)
  • Demonstrate compassion, excellent interpersonal and clinical skills, and the ability to work with a wide variety of people
  • Practice safety, environmental, and/or infection control methods
  • Must have reliable transportation
