The Plant Controller for our two sites in TX (Mansfield and Round Rock) is a key member of the Plant (organization) Management Teams who are involved in evaluating and selecting the organization’s strategy and objectives, in collaboration with the international executive team and other manufacturing site management teams. This person will define and manage systems to ensure the organization can achieve its objectives in an efficient manner. The role will communicate and track financial and operational KPI’s with all department heads and will ensure internal controls are effective.

This person will define and manage systems to ensure the organization can achieve its objectives in an efficient manner. The role will communicate and track financial and operational KPI’s with all department heads and will ensure internal controls are effective.
Responsibilities
This position is responsible for, but not limited to, the following:
- Participate in strategic and tactical projects and activities
- Provide necessary analysis to make informed decisions on strategy and objectives for the organization especially capacity analysis to support investment decisions along with Return on Investment calculations to ensure that investments have adequate returns
- Define and manage the internal control system in collaboration with the NAM hub and international headquarters
- Establish and maintain local controls to meet local requirements while respecting NAM and Corporate policies, such as, but not limited to:
- Planning processes and systems (strategic planning, budget, forecast)
- Internal financial and operational reporting process
- Costing (incl. product costing)
- Processes for cost savings, continuous improvement, efficiencies and value-added in all areas in general, and in purchasing specifically
- Policies, procedures, standard operating procedures
- Collaborate with Local and Global Purchasing to ensure that we are leveraging our position with respect to direct and indirect spend and participate in vendor selection, approval and evaluation
- Linkage to other control systems such as the internal control system, the quality system, the operational control system, the production planning
- Provide leadership in Asset Management to ensure that our inventories are optimized, and that capital is deployed efficiently and effectively.
- Other job duties:
- Prepare and analyze monthly financial and operational reports
- Interact with global and NAM’s finance department
- Provide ad-hoc analysis and participate in special projects as needed
- Frequent travel to Round Rock, TX (at least once per month) and occasional travel to Andover, MA or Basel, Switzerland (up to 4 trips/ year).
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related discipline
- 10+ years progressive accounting experience
- 10+ years of expereince working in MS-Office, especially with Excel
- 5+ years of expereince working in SAP or other ERP systems including implementation
- 2+ years of experience in an international matrix organization
- CPA or equivalent international certification is a plus
- MBA or Master Degree in Accounting is a plus
- Previous experience in medical device industry or other highly regulated industry
- Leadership, interpersonal and communication skills
- Strong integrated business knowledge
- Ability to adapt and learn rapidly in a fast-paced environment
- Analytical and hands-on problem-solving skills
- International Accounting Standard (IFRS) knowledge is a plus
