Activity/Production Assistant

The Community Day Services (CDS) provides a variety of programs to enhance each individual’s adaptive living skills, economic self-sufficiency, overall level of independence and integration into the community.

The CDS is seeking a Activity/Production Assistant to assist in production operation needs and coordinate community activities for the CDS program.

Shift: 1st

Responsibilties

• Assists with coordination of CDS community outings for all work lines
• Performs outreach to various community outing venues: seeks discounts; makes reservations and/or group ticket purchases; seeks new outing opportunities as requested
• Distributes and tracks agency gift cards/funds/receipts to Training Specialists for use on community outings
• Tracks community outing consumer participation across work lines; compiles data for quality assurance purposes
• Assists in the daily production operations and the training of consumers in usage of material handling equipment
• Assists in the coordination, monitoring, control and inventory, supplies and materials
• Assists in production receiving and shipping operations
• Assists and supervises operation of the baler
• Assists with implementation of production Quality Control Program
• Maintains understanding of all Illinois and Federal Department of Labor standards for sub minimum wage work
• Communicates with vendors as needed and/or in absence of the Industrial Services Manager
• Completes all documentation as require by agency policy and licensing regulations
  
  

Qualifications

• Prior experience with population served.
• Experience with activity planning for DD/ID population, required.
• High school diploma or equivalency required.
• DSP certified, preferred.
• Must possess a valid IL driver's license meeting DCFS approval.
• Must pass a physical, drug test and MVR background check.
