System Performance Engineer

Job Title: System Performance Engineer

Location(s): Walnut Creek, CA

Responsibilities

• Responsible for collecting and using hourly and daily service measurement data to optimize the LTE and 5G networks.
• Responsible for optimizing large venue/stadiums and integrate additional RF sources to provide service in large events.
• Monitor event performance in real time and address issues as needed.
• Produce Network Performance Reports for Engineers and Management
• Representing the team for feature related projects, new node integration, and other centralized tasks by meeting deliverables and holding other parties accountable per project plan.
• Troubleshooting hardware and performance problems independently or by coordinating with other teams.
• Supporting Network Performance in evaluating and improving areas of poor coverage by identifying system performance problems.
• Reporting issues to appropriate engineers.
• Resolving customer service issues, assisting in implementing solutions, and collecting drive test data in support of performance evaluations and build program prioritization.
  
  

MUST HAVE SKILLS (Most Important)

• Expertise with 5GNR (High, Medium and Low bands) and LTE technologies, including VoLTE and RAN network performance.
• Knowledge of Ericsson systems including ENM and RAN equipment.
• Experience with performance reporting tools and methodologies with the purpose of identifying customer impacting issues, and optimizing cellular network performance.
  
  

Desired Skills

• Knowledge of programming languages such as Python or scripting tools.
• Experience with tools such as RTT, DMAT, TrueCall, Airwave.
• Knowledge of Ericsson RAN systems and metrics.
• Data analytics experience, using tools like Tableau.
• Experience with Root Metrics data collection and reporting.
  
  

Education/Certifications

• Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of relevant work experience.
  
  

Other

• Candidate should have valid driver's license and be able to use their vehicle to collect data and perform field visits in the Bay Area as needed.
