Panasonic is looking for an intern to join our innovative teams in the IT Security Team. Panasonic seeks a self-directed IT Security intern with a passion for technology, collaboration, and creative problem-solving. Our team members are hard-working, goal-oriented, and creative, and they are looking for interns to train. The intern hired for this position should expect to learn all facets of the Information Security and Cybersecurity program. The intern will actively contribute to meaningful projects and work closely with a mentor and with senior leadership.

Panasonic Energy of North America (PENA) is collaborating with Tesla at a massive battery factory near Reno, Nevada which is known for its quality of life and expansive outdoor adventures. Panasonic's role at the Gigafactory is to manufacture and supply cylindrical lithium-ion cells to Tesla for their electric vehicles and energy storage systems.
Over the past few years, the Gigafactory has grown to the largest lithium-ion battery factory in the world. Together with our partner Tesla, we continue to revolutionize the lithium-ion battery space and accelerate the world’s transition to sustainable energy and transportation.

Internship Details
- The program will be a fulltime paid summer internship working for Panasonic at the Gigafactory
- The program will be 12 weeks in length, and is planned to occur between Monday, May 19th and Friday, August 8th. This date range is subject to change
- Must be able to attend the entirety of the internship
- Housing allowance provided
- The program will be a fulltime paid summer internship working for Panasonic Energy of North America onsite at the Gigafactory
- Must attend entirety of internship from the indicated start and end date noted above
- Minimum 3.2 GPA
- Must have completed a minimum of 2 years at an accredited university
- Support the IT Security team in implementing and managing the information security program across two factories
- Assist with security incident identification, response, and remediation activities
- Manage ISO 27001 ISMS compliance, as well as regulatory compliance
- Work with a wide range of technology to align security controls to business needs
- To ensure the health and safety in the workplace and for the protection of our employees, wearing PPE is a possibility and may include equipment such as a full Tyvek suit, safety shoes, gloves, safety glasses, face mask, bump cap, and a full hazmat suit that includes a respirator.
Education
What You'll Bring:
- Completion of at least two years of full-time enrollment (minimum 12 credit hours per semester) in a Bachelor’s degree program in IT, Cybersecurity, Computer Science, or similar discipline.
- Must be currently enrolled as a fulltime student at an accredited four-year college or university
- Completion of at least two years of full-time enrollment (minimum 12 credit hours per semester) in a Bachelor’s Degree program
- Basic knowledge of project management processes and tools
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Strong organizational skills
- Excellent interpersonal, teamwork, and collaboration skills
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to write and communicate technical information clearly and concisely
- Fluency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Outlook)
- Ability to apply principles of logical or scientific thinking to a wide range of intellectual and practical problems
- Must have working-level knowledge of the English language, including reading, writing, and speaking English
- GPA of 3.2 or higher
- Hands-on experience through project teams or previous jobs
- A desire to create a sustainable future through energy storage, renewable energy, and electric vehicles
