The VP, Information Technology & Security is a senior leadership role responsible for the design, development and implementation of organizational information systems, software applications, security posture, and IT support and infrastructure systems. This position directs and manages IT plans, schedules, policies, and programs for the company’s data processing, network communications, business operations, security posture, computer services and management information systems according to established goals and objectives.
High-level tasks may include identifying emerging information technologies to be analyzed, and assimilated, and integrated within the organization; overseeing the development of mission-critical applications and technology to support the company’s long-term goals and providing direction and leadership to one or more development teams while constantly seeking innovative ways to streamline operations and improve the borrower’s experience. This position drives the implementation of best practices throughout the organization while governing control, ensuring objectives are achieved, as well as overseeing risk management, resource allocation, project prioritization, and research and recommendation of new systems and software products and services.
Responsibilities:
Management:
- Develops, oversees and drives the company’s information, cyber, and technology security initiatives, including strategy and framework; Provides management oversight for IT Support Services as well as the Development Team; Provides IT Project Management oversight; Oversees IT expenses on the corporate and branch level; Facilitates and maintains vendor relationships and licensing contracts; Maintains the company’s Disaster Recovery & Business Continuity plan.
Security:
- Defines and implements security tools and capability enhancements (cyber defense framework) to protect hardware, software and information resources; Ensures the company’s IT framework meets the requirements of the Privacy Act and Red Flags Security Program; Maintains the company’s Identity & Wire Theft Policy and leads remediation efforts when the Policy is initiated; Acts as liaison between IT and Operations to investigate and remediate any fraud concerns.
IT Support/Infrastructure:
- Creates, implements, and manages escalation procedures and ensures appropriate service levels are maintained; Oversees the maintenance of all company-liable computer systems; Makes recommendations to improve hardware and software platforms; Manages Microsoft software and services, including O365, Azure AD, Exchange, Teams, SharePoint, Intune, Business Intelligence, etc.; Oversees asset management; Ensures company adherence to all software licensing laws/regulations.
Mortgage Applications and Development:
- Acts as liaison between business leaders and the development team to continually monitor, maintain and enhance the company’s proprietary system – Equity247; Works with business leaders and IT personnel to ensure our Power BI analytical system is being used to its fullest capacity and meets the needs of the Sales Team; Obtains and maintains working knowledge of mortgage related software applications.
Ancillary Responsibilities:
- Represents IT in project meetings; Attends technology conferences and trainings; Travels to other offices as needed; Participates in special projects and completes other duties and responsibilities as needed and/or outlined in the full Job Description.
Travel:
Travel on an established basis to the Corporate Office in Newark, Ohio will be required as well as ad hoc travel to other company locations and conferences as needed.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, software engineering, or related degree required; master’s degree preferred. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted.
- Minimum of 7 years of management experience required; including oversight of IT Support (helpdesk) and information security administration.
- Direct experience within the mortgage industry is required, preferably within an IT role; however, mortgage operations experience will be considered.
- Experience with Cloud security within Amazon AWS and/or Microsoft Azure, Microsoft Intune, Microsoft Power BI, FreshService, Cisco Meraki networking, and VOIP phone systems is preferred.
- Experience overseeing mobile application development, deployment, and maintenance including planning, coding work, design and UX is required.
- Experience managing and deploying APIs in various programs is preferred.
- Experience or willingness to learn the administrative functions (including coding) of Encompass/ICE – LOS system is required.
- Experience implementing technical solutions to solve business problems and improve processes is essential.
- Experience managing IT projects and communications is necessary.
- IT industry certification(s) is highly preferred (i.e. CompTIA, Microsoft).
Key Competencies:
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Operating Systems and products (i.e. Windows, Office 365, Active Directory)
- Advanced knowledge of Support Desk applications (i.e. Service Desk, Service Now, Remedy Action Request System)

- Must be detail oriented and well organized with a proven ability to multi-task and respond quickly to issues as they arise

The employee is frequently required to reach with hands and arms; The employee may occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision and depth perception. Overtime may be required.
Office Hours: General business hours Monday – Friday 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., on call as needed.
