Job Description
The Iowa Department of Health and Human Services’ (Iowa HHS) Division of Compliance, Bureau of Human Resources and General Business Services is seeking a Data Analyst (Data Analyst 1).
Summary
This position will oversee the data collection and analysis of various programs within the HHS agency and will be responsible for a variety of data reporting on department-wide initiatives, including agency cultural assessments, compensation and pay, and hiring trends.
The HHS Data Analyst position is a part-time opportunity with a flexible schedule. Occasional travel for trainings and meetings will be required.
Responsibilities
Collaborate and communicate with Human Resources and team members throughout the agency to effectively manage data analysis and reporting metrics.
Create and build strong working relationships with internal and external partners to evaluate existing workflows and recommend improvements of existing systems and workflows.
Provide analysis of agency hiring trends and practices, including reporting for employee retention and recruitment strategies.
Responsible provide workforce skills assessments and create and maintain HR and Workforce program dashboards.

- Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university with a degree in business analytics, economics, data science, statistics, mathematics, management information systems, or industrial management.
- A total of four years of education and/or full-time experience in business/data/statistical analytics, economic research, or data science, where thirty semester hours of accredited college or university coursework in any field equals one year of full-time experience.
- Possession of a professional certificate in data science, business analytics, or data analytics.
- All of the following (a and b):
- A total of four years of education and/or full-time experience in business/data/statistical analytics, economic research, or data science, where thirty semester hours of accredited college or university coursework in any field equals one year of full-time experience; and
- A total of one year of graduate-level education and/or full-time experience (as described in part a), where twenty-four semester hours of accredited graduate college or university coursework in business analytics, economics, data science, statistics, mathematics, management information systems, or industrial management equals one year of full-time experience.
