Currently, we're in search of a highly motivated Insurance and Billing Coordinator to join our team in our Danbury location. Candidate should have a strong work-ethic, be a team player and possess the ability to multitask.

Responsibilities Include, But Are Not Limited To

  • Maintain knowledge of insurance, specifically how preferred provider organization (PPO) dental insurance plans operate
  • Ability to resolve billing disputes and use independent judgment or little supervision regarding coverage and insurance claims.
  • Ability to communicate necessary information to assist patients with questions in regards to their dental insurance, ledger, and account status.
  • Ensure insurance and patient payments are posted accurately and with attention to detail as funds become available, considering a multi-office environment.
  • Ensure timely collection from insurers, including daily attention to resolving insurance claim issues such as requests for additional information and denials
  • Manage outstanding insurance claims
  • Ability to prepare, present, and understand financial arrangements and insurance options that meet both patients’ and practice’s need for proposed treatment plans
  • Assist with financial arrangements for unpaid patient balances, ensuring timely payments
  • Assist clerical staff including but not limited to: insurance verifications, pre estimates, research with patient billing concerns, and other insurance issues
  • Ability to handle multiple deadlines and task assignments comfortably and efficiently
  • Ability to work both independently and cooperatively in team setting
  • Comply with HIPAA and Corporate Compliance program policies and other applicable corporate and departmental policies.

Requirements

  • Superior customer service skills, with the ability to infuse personality, empathy, and enthusiasm into each patient contact
  • Knowledge of dental terminology
  • Willingness to learn and grow
  • Dental business office experience, insurance and billing experience is a plus
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • Excellent computer skills, Dentrix Ascend experience is a plus
  • Reliably commute to the office location in Danbury, CT
  • Ability to work within the office hours of 7:30-5pm Monday through Friday
