The Job:

As the Business Development Manager, you will be a part of the SEF team working as a remote employee. Business Development Managers (BDMs) serve as the primary representatives of our organization at OEMs, focusing on driving new business opportunities. They will schedule meetings with engineers to engage in key design discussions and coordinate production line tours at manufacturing facilities, where they present value-added solutions aimed at reducing total assembly costs. BDMs will dedicate approximately 75% of their time to visiting customers and prospects. In the competitive fastener industry, it is essential for BDMs to effectively differentiate both themselves and the organization to achieve success. You'll get to:


  • Utilize existing market intelligence and conduct market research to identify potential customers and understand their needs and preferences.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with both existing and prospective customers.
  • Create and implement sales strategies to meet business objectives and targets.
  • Assess selling opportunities, present relevant products and services, and effectively communicate the value propositions our business offers.
  • Work closely with marketing, product development, and operations teams to ensure successful execution of business plans.
  • Analyze competitors to identify market trends and uncover new opportunities.
  • Negotiate and finalize deals with clients, ensuring favorable terms and conditions.
  • Track and analyze sales performance metrics to identify areas for improvement.
  • Provide regular reports and updates to senior management on sales activities, market trends, and competitor analysis.
  • Stay updated with industry trends, market dynamics, and emerging technologies to identify new business opportunities.
  • Attend industry events, conferences, and networking events to build relationships and promote the company's products or services.


The Person:

  • BS in Engineering or related field
  • Proven background in B2B sales, distribution, and working with OEMs. Experience in Infrastructure and Heavy Equipment markets is advantageous
  • Strong knowledge of sales and marketing principles.
  • Affinity with technical products is a must
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in using CRM software, preferably SalesForce, and other sales tools.
  • 75% travel visiting customers and prospects
