Communications Specialist (Onsite - 4 days per week in Irvine,CA)

Overview

The Communications Specialist will work directly with the Corporate Communications Manager to develop PR plans and communication strategies, build and manage media relations, and enhance the company’s voice and reputation while supporting key stakeholders across the organization.

The Impact You'll Make

• Support brand campaigns and product launches; assist in building media and comms strategies; identify PR, earned media, and thought leadership opportunities in support of the company’s overall narrative.
• Compile reports, review and monitor press coverage, and keep key stakeholders informed of media coverage and requests, and other duties as assigned.
• Create content - develop, write, and edit press releases and other content types as needed (i.e. - one-pagers).
• Build and maintain relationships with media contacts, ability to pitch stories and PR narratives, and coordinate press releases and reactive/proactive media responses as needed.
• Collaborate cross-functionally to ensure consistent brand messaging across internal and external communication channels.
• Conduct background research and compile information in support of PR campaigns and media inquiries.
  
  

What You've Accomplished

• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Communications, PR, Marketing, or a related field, and a minimum 2+ years of relevant experience.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills, strong organizational skills, self-starter with initiative and drive.
• Strong writing and communication skills, the ability to be agile, and a desire to learn and grow with the everchanging cannabis industry.
• Ability to work independently, meet deadlines, and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
• Creative, results-oriented thinker who is proactive, and can adapt in a fast-paced environment.
• An understanding of internal and external comms and PR best practices, and channels (i.e. - Slack)
• Experience and/or familiarity with the cannabis industry.
• Ability to view and analyze data, and translate insights into actionable talking points.
• Experience with G-suite (docs, sheets, etc.)
  
  

The base pay range for this position is $66,000 - $76,000 per year.
