Emerald is seeking an Operations Manager to join our team. The Operations Manager is responsible for ensuring all tradeshow operations and logistical efforts are planned and executed efficiently and in a cost effective manner.
The Operations Manager is a collaborative organizer who frequently leads interactions with both internal and external partners to manage spending, contracts, onsite design and logistics, and show collateral. The Operations Manager ensures all relevant parties are kept informed of the multitude of moving parts necessary to successfully execute an event. Onsite, the Operations Manager is responsible for managing all operational aspects as well as maintaining relationships with onsite partners and Emerald personnel.

This position will be based in our Alpharetta, GA office.
- Manage the planning and execution of all assigned events
- Develop show production timelines
- Facilitate pre-show and post-show event meetings and participate in weekly show team meetings
- Develop, monitor, maintain event budgets and expenses, including recommending cost savings measures directly related to operating expenses, managing monthly and year end accruals and reclassing expenses, maintaining payment schedules and deposits, and processing vendor invoices for payment
- Create RFPs, review and analyze proposals, negotiate, and manage ancillary vendor contracts, including reviewing and assisting with the implementation of facility and hotel contracts
- Submit and monitor exhibit hall, registration, and special event floor plans, including coordinating all expo logistics, show design concepts, and signage with General Service Contractor
- Work closely with sales and marketing on execution of events/show orders, including developing sponsorship P&L statements and supporting fulfillment
- Oversee the production of the exhibitor service manuals, event-related forms, and exhibitor listings for the show guide & addendum
- Manage EAC insurance and approvals
- Manage booth approvals and rule enforcement with exhibitors
- Contract and schedule first aid vendor and event security
- Schedule and monitor event cleaning and trash/recycling services
- Collect any outstanding COIs for all events
- Monitor weekly housing pick-ups and manage staff and VIP housing
- Plan for and manage lounges and specialty areas on the show floor
- Contract, manage and monitor special events
- Assist with the conference program as directed
- Develop operations post event assessment
- 5+ years’ experience in event operations
- Understanding of meeting and event planning principles, requirements, and procedures
- Experience leading a team and managing external partners
- Experience in creating and managing event budgets
- Extremely proficient in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Smartsheets and Outlook
- Ability to travel pre-show and onsite up to 40%

COMPENSATION & BENEFITS
Target Compensation: $85,000 (bonus eligible)
Please note that this range reflects a reasonable estimate of the target compensation for this position. This range may ultimately vary based on a candidate’s qualifications and may be higher where required by applicable law.
