Vice President, Business Development

Position Summary

The VP, Business Development is a highly collaborative, influential, and experienced senior leader responsible for initiating and closing sales opportunities. Success in the role depends on a strong drive to win new business, as well as existing b2b relationships. Responsibilities include managing pipeline of potential deals, assessing and designing solutions to meet the needs of multiple clients, teaming with field management to create proposals with terms & conditions, and securing client agreement.

Position Description

  • Create, administer, and implement the business development strategies and tactics for the company.
  • Identify, evaluate, solicit, and follow-up with targets through multiple sales, communications, and marketing methods (eg, cold calling, conference attendance, social media, public relations, presentations, etc.)
  • Initiate and develop relationships with key prospects to identify and meet prospects’ business needs.
  • Oversee and implement full sales cycle, including market research, needs analysis, pitch, closing, renewal, and upsell.
  • Maintain relationships with clients to ensure project success.
  • Create and customize presentations and other sales materials.
  • Respond to RFPs, review MSAs and other contractual agreements, and work with Operations Management team to write proposals including the preparation of project budgets.
  • Establish and achieve sales goals, metrics, and milestones. Track and report on progress and success
  • Capture prospect and market needs and trends and consult with executive leadership and internal teams for solution development.
  • Work with Senior Leadership team to add support in other areas and assist with other company projects and initiatives, as needed.

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • 10 or more years of sales or business development experience in multi-unit family living or B2B organizations.
  • Track record of closing deals. History of meeting or exceeding sales goals.
  • Experience leading and executing full sales cycle (prospecting through closing and retention/upsell).
  • Experience leading sales teams.

Knowledge, Skills And Abilities

  • Knowledge of applicable regulations and standards affecting multi-family living.
  • Ability to consistently manage numerous high priority projects at the same time.
  • Ability to present a professional image to management, staff, patients, clients, and other outside contacts.
  • Exceptional internal and external customer service and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively as a team member.
  • Flexible in nature to accommodate new program growth and change.
  • Fully competent in MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and able to learn new technology systems quickly.

Physical Demands

  • Part of duties will require the ability to traverse properties within portfolio, standing, bending, moving items such as papers, boxes, event items, collateral, books, small parts, driving an automobile, etc. No special physical demands are required to perform the work.

Work Environment

The work environment require normal safety precautions typical of such places as offices, meeting and training rooms, or commercial vehicles. The work area is adequately lighted, heated, and ventilated, except when working on items outside of the office environment.
