Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented associate to join our dynamic research team focused on discovering new treatments for mitochondrial diseases. The ideal candidate will be involved in cutting-edge research exploring the activation of the impact of the various pathways in mitochondrial diseases. You will work with advanced laboratory techniques, develop analytical methods, and collaborate with esteemed researchers to drive forward novel therapeutic approaches.
You will conduct experiments to analyze gene expression in biological samples, including cell lines and tissues, using molecular biology techniques such as RNA extraction, cDNA synthesis, and gene expression analysis. Collaboration with a multidisciplinary team will be key as you explore new treatment options for mitochondrial diseases. Additionally, you will assist establishing protocols for imaging techniques to study the cellular effects of treatments, analyze experimental data, and contribute to scientific reports and presentations.
Pay Range
Minimum $23.77 Midpoint $31.49 Maximum $39.21
Rate of pay is determined by various factors, including but not limited to knowledge, skills, competencies, experience, education, as well as position requirements.
Experience
Required: College level experience with, and knowledge of, the research laboratory environment, basic tissue culture and molecular and cell biology techniques.
Preferred: Working experience in a molecular or cell biology research laboratory.
Education
Required: AA degree in the sciences from an accredited college.
Preferred: Bachelor's degree in the sciences from an accredited college or university.
Specialized Skills
Required: Ability to set goals and judge results in accordance with the highest standards; cares with sensitivity and respect; advances care through development of new ideas and technology; promotes teamwork to achieve CHOC's mission; and understands and exceeds customer expectations.
Work Environments - Functional Demand
