This job entails coordinating purchasing and inventory levels consistent with corporate practices and goals. The Buyer will review and maintain stock inventory and buy-outs not assigned to corporate buyers as well as coordinate and expedite mill shipments and transfers with operations.

- Evaluate on-hand inventory consistent with historical sales and forecast, reviewing specific products to maintain consistent stocking levels.
- Coordinate and negotiate buy-outs from local and out of area sources.
- Review sales orders daily to determine if there is a need to fill inventory due to an exceptional sale.
- Supports sales staff with quoting and sourcing items, including availability and scheduling.
- Enters and maintains new and daily purchase orders including but not limited to pricing, rolling dates and incoming dates.
- Releases all material from the mill and maintains a spread sheet showing all incoming material.
- Updates appointment log.
- Records weights for all vendors.
- Sends accounts receivable proper documentation for all mill directs for billing purposes.
- Reviews accounts payable discrepancies and provides Corporate with corrections including checking pricing on invoices from all our vendors.
- Enters quotes and convert to sales orders when applicable.
- Participates with physical inventory.
- Adhere to all company policies and procedures.

- Other duties as assigned by management.
- Education and Experience
- 2-3 years of experience in a buyer/purchasing capacity
- Knowledge/Skills/Competencies
- Carbon structural, plate, hot rolled, tubing product/producer knowledge preferred.
- Computer literate with excel/word proficiency.
- Attention to detail.
- High proficiency in multi-tasking, communication, and strong work ethic.
