As Vice President of Sales, US Orthopedics, you play a critical role as a key leader on the Orthopedics Leadership Team. Your primary responsibilities are building a winning culture, driving a talent-based offense focused on recruiting, retaining and engaging highly driven sales leaders and sales professionals, contributing to the strategic plan, setting direction to achieve the plan, and directing your US sales team to achieve the sales budget and profitability objectives. Key tenets of winning include strong performance management and accountability, collaboration with your counterparts on the Orthopedics Leadership Team (Marketing, Finance, Human Resources, R&D, etc.), and highly effective communication.
As the senior leader of our salesforce, you will lead the leaders who directly manage the salesforce in the field (directors and managers), and simultaneously you will have your sleeves rolled up as you are actively involved and setting the example for those you lead. You’re expected to be self-driven, continually assessing what is happening in and around the business (good and bad), how you and your team are responding, and consistently communicating these with the leadership team.

What You’ll Do
- Act with integrity – our #1 pillar at CONMED
- Drive accountability – use data and analytics to highlight and celebrate winners and to inform where performance management is required
- Deliver results – the ultimate objective; develop a highly effective sales and sales management team
- Expand the channel – Put more feet on the street and grow the salesforce in key markets
- Build strategy and execute - Implement effective sales strategies, policies and develop new sales channel opportunities
- Build and maintain professional relations with customers and industry stakeholders
- Maintain highly effective communication / coordination with CONMED management
- Assume responsibility for related duties as required or assigned
- Required:
- 10+ years of experience in the Medical Device industry with 3+ years leading sales managers / sales leaders
- Experience with multiple sales platforms, including Salesforce.com
- Bachelor Degree required
- Preferred:
- Direct professional experience in Sports Medicine
- Cross-functional professional experience in Medical Device industry (i.e. Marketing, Contracting, Medical Education, etc.)
- 15+ years of experience in the Medical Device industry, with 5+ years in sales leading sales managers / sales leaders
- Expected Travel: 50%+
