The Informatics Administrator is responsible for the application administration of the Electronic Health Record Systems and acts a liaison for end-user support. Â The Informatics Administrator provides analysis, application/system development/configuration, and recommendations for new/change Forms, Widgets, Reports, in support of business and software changes.
Characteristic Duties and Responsibilities
High School Diploma or GED and four (4) years of progressively responsible work experience in applications development.

The Informatics Administrator is responsible for the application administration of the Electronic Health Record Systems and acts a liaison for end-user support. Â The Informatics Administrator provides analysis, application/system development/configuration, and recommendations for new/change Forms, Widgets, Reports, in support of business and software changes.
Characteristic Duties and Responsibilities
- Responsible for the Administration of the Electronic Health Record and assigned applications by providing ongoing support and maintenance.
- Partners with assigned clinical and non-clinical staff to review business problems and identify opportunities to improve business efficiency in support of the Electronic Health Record and other software applications
- Performs tasks related to technical support and implementations for software applications and/or to include but not limited to the Electronic Health Record
- Works with the business for assigned service projects in support of identified initiatives
- Provides Tier 2 level support for Electronic Health Record and other identified systems.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers, employees at all levels of the County, vendors, contractors, consultants, and the publicÂ
- Assists in the development and implementation of long range and strategic plans; analyzes future application needs; and makes appropriate recommendations to stakeholders.
- Conducts detailed analysis of user department's needs, requirements, and business practices, and makes appropriate recommendations and develop technical specifications.Â
- Performs software upgrades, system maintenance, required fixes, and enhancements on all department specific applications or packaged solutions. Â
- Provides functional oversight of project work, acting as project manager, when and where appropriate, directing the efforts of both department and technical staff to bring assigned project initiatives to a successful and timely conclusion.
- Monitor technical support requests/tickets for all systems and respond accordingly
- Monitor the scheduling and dispatching of both emergency and planned technical support service calls.Â
- Provide top-tier technical support to staff when needed.Â
- Develop and maintain documentation of procedures and work plans.
- Collaborates with the Department Centralized Records Supervisor / HIPAA Privacy and Security Coordinator to provide security solutions that meet established County standards and industry best practices.
- Establishes and maintains effective working relationships with co-workers, employees at all levels of the County, vendors, contractors, consultants, and the public.
- Performs other duties as required.
- Considerable knowledge of management information systems principles, practices, and technologies.
- Considerable knowledge of software application supports principles, practices, and supporting technologies.
- Comprehensive knowledge to evaluating and analyzing processesÂ
- Comprehensive knowledge of problem-solving techniques for computer software systems troubleshooting.
- Comprehensive knowledge of project management principles and practices.
- Working knowledge of data analysis and data management principles and practices.
- Working knowledge of HIPAA Security & Privacy Rules and other government technology laws
- Working knowledge of SQL, Crystal reporting and SSRS.
- Ability to analyze and document workflow and map business processes consistent with the Department of Administration, IT Division's standards.
- Ability to analyze information, evaluate alternatives, make appropriate recommendations, and implement solutions.
- Ability to organize and prioritize multiple work assignments.
- Ability to maintain accurate and detailed records and prepare and present written and oral reports and recommendations.
- Ability to establish and maintain working relationships to effectively communicate both orally and in writing.
- Exceptional analytical, conceptual thinking and documentation skills.
- Ability to work independently.

High School Diploma or GED and four (4) years of progressively responsible work experience in applications development.
- Post high school education from a recognized technical school, college, or university in computer science, management information systems, or a related area may be substituted for part of the work experience as follows:
- Associate degree and three (3) years of work experience.
- Bachelor's degree and two (2) years of work experience.
- Master's degree and one (1) year of work experience.
