The Iowa Economic Development Authority (IEDA), located in Des Moines, IA, is seeking a highly organized, collaborative and service-oriented professional to join our organization as an Arts Programs Coordinator for the Iowa Arts Council.

As a member of the Arts Council team, the Arts Programs Coordinator works in close collaboration with internal and external stakeholders to provide professional support and promotional assistance for programs and special projects that strengthen the arts in Iowa communities.

The Arts Programs Coordinator is a non-merit, non-contract position that is classified by the State of Iowa as an Economic Development Specialist 1 and is exempt per FLSA regulations.

Minimum Qualification Requirements
Graduation from an accredited four year college or university with major coursework in research, planning, economics, public relations, business, corporate finance, journalism or marketing and experience equal to one year of full-time work that involved responsibility for interpreting laws, rules and regulations, and/or securing compliance with them; or compiling and evaluating statistical, historical, economic, business, financial, or technical related program data;
OR
an equivalent combination of education and experience substituting one year of the above specified experience for each year (thirty semester or equivalent hours) of the required education.

Responsibilities
Arts Programs Support
- Supports Arts Council grant managers with carrying out key data management tasks related to operating annual grant cycles including updating data files, processing forms required for payment requests, and uploading records and documents in a customer relationship management (CRM) system.
- Collaborates with Arts Council and agency colleagues in the planning and development of special initiatives and programs. These initiatives and programs may relate to the folk & traditional arts, arts learning, and other areas that strengthen access to the arts and build a stronger arts environment in fulfillment of agency goals and in alignment with funding from the National Endowment for the Arts.
- Manages the nomination and selection process for the biennial Governor's Arts Awards.
- Works with state agency partners to maintain accurate records of objects in the state art collection.
- Coordinates meetings and events considering logistics related to Arts Council workshops, meetings, trainings and special events that serve communities, artists, arts educators and arts organizations.
- Coordinates virtual meetings, webinars, and professional learning activities to build a statewide network of arts leaders.
- Works proactively and collaboratively with the agency's communications team and Arts Council staff to promote Arts Council programs, resources, awardees, and activities.
- Updates routine program materials within approved templates and design guidelines.
- Coordinates Arts Council communications requests; tracks and monitors the status of requests.
