Position Summary
The Team Lead will represent and ensure the highest level of visitor satisfaction, service, and experience on the Garden grounds. Support VE leadership and Attendants on duty
Additionally, this position supports, through actions and conduct, NYBG’s Inclusion, Diversity, Equity and Accessibility initiatives and helps to build and maintain an inclusive organization culture throughout the institution Specific Duties and Responsibilities
Baseline Work Schedule 18 Hours Per Week (Minimum)

- Provide visitors and Attendants with accurate and real-time information
- Consistently uphold standards of excellence and make the visitor experience a top priority
- Be responsible for your designated post/sector. Provide post/sector with necessary supplies. Keep it clean presentable, and operational
- Remain visible and approachable at all times in high visitation areas
- Perform current Attendant and or Tram driver duties as required
- Work closely with leadership to ensure the highest standards of service are achieved
- Liaise with leadership on duty to achieve resolution to visitor challenges and staff inquiries
- Be the point person for leadership staff. Notify leadership immediately as issues arise, such as broken equipment, mishaps in restrooms, erroneous signage, malfunctions, etc
- Monitor staff breaks. Breaks begin at 11a and should be performed in the order assigned
- Participate fully in morning meetings, training sessions, programs, and staff assignments i.e. presentations, tours
- Perform other duties as assigned by leadership
- Minimum 6 months as a VE Attendant or Tram driver
- Extensive knowledge of NYBG geography and plant collections
- Available to work weekends, weekdays, holidays, and some evenings
- Previous customer service experience required
- Excellent communication skills
- Fluency in English required
- Work outdoors, under a variety of weather conditions
- Stand and or/sit for long periods
- Move up to 25lbs
