Job Overview

Consumers Energy is seeking an Advanced Methane Detection Driver to join our innovative Picarro initiative. This role involves operating a specialized vehicle equipped with advanced gas analysis technology to detect methane emissions while traversing designated routes. This position presents a unique chance to engage in environmental sustainability efforts while driving through familiar local areas.

Key Responsibilities

• Drive assigned territories, completing two passes through each designated section of the state three times over two nights.
• Review territorial assignments and devise the most efficient driving routes.
• Operate and maintain the vehicle in compliance with safety regulations, ensuring it is functional each day.
• Secure the vehicle at the end of each workday at the Consumers Energy service center.
• Participate in routine vehicle upkeep, including scheduling necessary maintenance such as oil changes and tire rotations.
• Utilize company-provided devices to complete daily surveys and participate in weekly call-in meetings.
  
  

Required Skills

• Valid Chauffeur’s license is mandatory for this role.
• Strong driving record and familiarity with GPS systems.
• Proficiency in using smartphones and basic computer skills.
• A CDL license is preferable.
• Ability to communicate effectively.
• Self-motivated with keen attention to detail.
• Previous experience in commercial driving is highly beneficial.

• Candidates must reside within the mapping area, with a commute of less than one hour.
