NoCo Foundation serves as a trusted steward and service provider to philanthropists and nonprofit organizations. NoCo Foundation is dedicated to creating transformational community impact by inspiring philanthropy and engaging the region. We do this by serving as a grant maker, thought leader, neutral convener, and catalyst for strategic community initiatives.
Position Summary
Reporting to the President/CEO, the Director of Community Impact serves as a key leadership team member and active participant in making strategic decisions for the Foundation. This position is primarily responsible for the NoCo Foundation’s community leadership work and its initiatives to drive regional collaboration around critical challenges in Northern Colorado. This position purposefully works to strengthen community connections that drive awareness of and participation in the work of the Foundation, working collaboratively with peers in Weld County for impact across the region. In addition, this position provides oversight for all Foundation-initiated grantmaking, including scholarships, the Larimer County Community Fund Committees, and disaster relief efforts. The Director of Community Impact also provides strategic leadership for the Foundation’s communications and marketing activities. This position currently oversees the communications and programmatic departments.

Leadership Team
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
- Models organizational values and drives culture.
- Develops team members both individually and collectively as a team.
- Creates alignment, inspiration, and coordination with other departments.
- Drives impact and assists in managing NoCo Foundation’s progress toward strategic goals.
- Assists in the development and management of the Foundation’s annual operating budget.
- Oversees NoCo Foundation’s efforts to drive regional collaboration to address Northern Colorado’s most pressing challenges.
- Directs the Northern Colorado Intersections: Pursuing Regional Well-Being initiative, which includes overseeing the next iteration of the report, as well as data assimilation of best practices and landscape mapping of existing work.
- Develops and executes a comprehensive plan to convene community stakeholders on important regional issues. This includes management of the Foundation’s Regional Leadership Initiative and the Growing Communities Collaborative.
- Continuously engages with stakeholders to gather insights and perspectives, ensuring a collective and inclusive approach.
- Cultivates and nurtures strategic partnerships with community members, philanthropic organizations, and public partners such as state, county, and city entities.
- Leads NoCo Foundation’s Impact Committee, including working with the Committee Chair on meeting agendas, facilitating committee meetings, and ensuring accurate committee minutes are prepared for action items
- Provides oversight of the Foundation’s efforts to strengthen the nonprofit sector in Northern Colorado.
- Provides oversight of all Foundation-initiated grant making, including the scholarship program and Community Fund Committees.
- Leads the NoCo Foundation’s disaster planning efforts so it is well-prepared for the next disaster and/or crisis in the region, coordinating among all departments and appropriate community partners.
- Develops a visionary and strategic communications plan with measurable goals aligned with the Foundation’s strategic priorities. Meets or exceeds annual goals.
- Provides strategic leadership for all communication vehicles, activities, and events.
- Develops innovative and creative storytelling and marketing strategies to optimize community awareness of the Foundation and its services.
- Works cross-departmentally to identify unique and interesting ways to engage donors, such as educational events, speakers, thought-leadership pieces, strategic communications, etc.
- The salary range for this position is $85,000 to $110,000.

Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or commensurate experience reflective of job responsibilities.
- 12+ years’ experience in nonprofit, foundation, community engagement work, or similar work requiring leading teams and executing strategy.
- Track record of establishing relationships based on trust with a diverse spectrum of community leaders.
- Excellent writing, presentation, and facilitation skills. Exceptional attention to detail and strong time management/organizational skills.
- Knowledge about the evolving needs in Northern Colorado.
- Ability to analyze and think critically. Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment, managing multiple projects and competing priorities.
- Ability to occasionally work non-standard hours, including early mornings, evenings, and weekends.
