Overview
Supports the department of Surgical Services Scheduling in the coordination of the scheduling activities. Additional responsibilities include the provision of organizational, and communication skills necessary to facilitate the flow of scheduling activities. These responsibilities include coordination of scheduling procedures and acts as a communication resource to patients, visitors, physicians, staff and ancillary personnel. Responsible for the maintenance of surgical records, order entry functions, and orientation/training of new personnel and collaboration with the healthcare team towards achieving fiscal and quality care goals and of outcomes for the divisions within surgical services. The position also supports the Scheduling Coordinator in the implementation of Surgical Services scheduling activities. Examples of duties include:
Six months health care experience scheduling required. In lieu of this experience, consideration will be made for staff with strong education and associated experiential background
Expertise with computer systems and word processing
Typing Skills Required
Proficient medical terminology

- Communication to facilitate patient care delivery and unit efficiency
- Performs daily scheduling activities
- Knowledge of CHESS system
- Maintain surgery/departmental schedules
- Completes daily charges and logging activities
- This position requires the full understanding and active participation in fulfilling the mission of AHMC Anaheim Regional Medical Center and AHMC Inc. It is expected that the employee demonstrate behavior consistent with the core values of ARMC and AHMC Inc. The employee shall support AHMC Anaheim Regional Medical Center's strategic plan and goals and direction of the performance improvement plan. The employee will also be expected to support all organizational expectations including, but not limited to; Customer Service, Patient's Rights, Confidentiality of Information, Environment of Care and AHMC Inc initiatives.
