GED Testing Service is hiring! Join our high performing Technology team in developing website and mobile app tools/features to help adults gain their high school equivalency diploma and change their lives for the better! You will work closely with our tech team and collaborate on various activities, including, but not limited to, website/mobile app feature improvements, tv show recommendations, hot pepper eating contests (completely optional), and sharing pet photos (top priority).

SCOPE OF JOB
The QA Analyst for GED Testing Service works within the Technology team and is responsible for the creation and maintenance of automated tests in an Agile team setting. Collaboration, creativity, and innovation help to proactively keep defects from entering the system leveraging automation. The person filling this role will need to develop tests that support team development efficiency and fixture reuse. Experience with automated testing is preferred. Experience with Azure platform is preferred.

The QA Analyst for GED Testing Service works within the Technology team and is responsible for the creation and maintenance of automated tests in an Agile team setting. The person filling this role will need to develop tests that support team development efficiency and fixture reuse. Experience with automated testing is preferred. Experience with Azure platform is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Create, edit, and update test plans and test cases ensuring use of appropriate test methodology, complete test coverage and full test documentation for all code to be tested, including integrations with partner systems
- Collaborate with developers and business analysts during the full story lifecycle to ensure that everyone has the same understanding of application functionality
- Build automated tests that validate story-based functional requirements, including tests across all supported platforms (android, iPhone, iPad and desktop)
- Document and escalate code defects per standard processes
- Investigate issues to identify root cause and develop tests to mimic the issue
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science and/or equivalent experience
- 2-5 years of experience in software quality assurance automation testing
- Knowledgeable of software testing, methodologies, processes, procedures and best practices
- Strong written and verbal communication skills required including the ability to explain code to others on the team
- Experience with Java or Groovy both required
- Understanding of inheritance
- Strong knowledge of web application test automation frameworks, such as Selenium, Geb/Spock
- Experience with page object model preferred
- Mobile app testing using Appium and 3 rd party mobile device testing using BrowserStack or SauceLabs preferred
- Experience with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins and Azure Dev Ops
- Understanding of how to use source control such as git for branching and merging branches
- Automated testing in Azure framework a plus
- Ability to come up to speed quickly on a complex system and highly configurable product, and understand the supporting technologies behind it
- Experience with MS SQL Server or other relational databases with the ability to create queries
- Experience with restful services, SOAP, XML, JSON
- Strong sense of responsibility and accountability and passion about quality of work
- Ability to work independently and desire to take ownership is required
- Able to work with the team processes even if you don’t personally agree with it
- Performance testing experience a plus
