Summary
- ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Offers emotional, educational, and developmental support to children to alleviate stress from illness and hospitalization.
- Collaborates with Child Life Assistant to tailor services to the needs of patients and families.
- Supervises Child Life interns.
- Performs additional assigned duties.
- LICENSES AND/OR CERTIFICATIONS
- Certification in Child Life required within one year of hire; must be maintained.
- CPR Training required within 45 days of hire.
- MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
- Bachelors Degree in Child Life or related field with a completed 600-hour pediatric internship.
- Preferred one year of experience in a pediatric healthcare setting.
- WORKING CONDITIONS
- Normal patient care environment with limited exposure to noise and dust; frequent exposure to communicable diseases.
