Title: Logistics Planner

FLSA Classification: Exempt

Department: Operations

Reports to: Logistics Manager

Salary: $65,000- $75,000+ bonus

Job Summary:

The Logistics Planner is responsible for coordinating and optimizing the logistics and supply chain operations within the organization. This role plays a crucial part in ensuring the efficient movement of goods, timely delivery to customers, and cost-effective supply chain management. The Operations Logistics Planner collaborates with internal teams and external partners to streamline logistics processes and enhance operational efficiency.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

This position does not have direct supervisory responsibilities but is subject to change.

Duties/Responsibilities:



  • Coordinate and plan logistics and supply chain operations, including transportation, inventory management, and order fulfillment.
  • Optimize routes and schedules for the transportation of goods to minimize costs and

maximize efficiency.

  • Collaborate with suppliers, carriers, and third-party logistics providers to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery of materials and products.
  • Monitor and track shipments to ensure on-time delivery and resolve any issues or

delays.

  • Analyze supply chain data and key performance indicators (KPIs) to identify

opportunities for process improvements.

  • Assist in the development of logistics strategies and policies to enhance overall supply chain performance.
  • Prepare and maintain documentation related to shipments, customs, and

compliance with regulatory requirements.

  • Coordinate with cross-functional teams, quality, production, and customer service, to ensure seamless logistics operations.
  • Stay informed about industry trends, logistics technologies, and best practices to

drive continuous improvement.

Required Skills/Abilities:

  • Strong knowledge of logistics and supply chain management principles, best practices, and methodologies.
  • Proficiency in logistics software (TMS - Turvo) and tools for route optimization, inventory

management, and shipment tracking.

  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills for addressing logistics challenges and making data-driven decisions.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills for collaborating with internal

teams, external partners, and carriers.

  • Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy in managing inventory and shipments.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Project management skills for coordinating logistics initiatives and process improvements.
  • Knowledge of regulatory compliance and international shipping requirements is a

plus.

Education/Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, Business, or a related field is typically preferred.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of relevant experience in logistics and supply chain

operations.

  • Familiarity with logistics software and tools, such as Transportation Management Systems (TMS) and Warehouse Management Systems (WMS), is advantageous.

Physical Requirements:

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
