Position Overview
We are in search of a visionary and accomplished Director of Global Food Procurement to spearhead our strategic sourcing and supply chain management efforts related to food products on a worldwide scale. This pivotal role requires a highly skilled expert with extensive experience in food procurement, vendor management, and global supply chain operations. The successful candidate will formulate and implement procurement strategies that ensure cost efficiency while fostering supplier relationships that align with our sustainability and quality goals. You will lead a dedicated team of five professionals within a larger procurement group of over twenty members.

Key Responsibilities
- Formulate and execute global procurement strategies for food products that reflect the organization's objectives, emphasizing cost management, quality assurance, and sustainable practices.
- Identify, negotiate, and cultivate strategic relationships with suppliers to guarantee high-quality product availability, drive cost savings, and mitigate risks.
- Provide leadership and mentorship to a team of five procurement specialists, nurturing a culture of high performance and alignment with departmental and corporate objectives.
- Oversee global supply chain logistics, encompassing inventory management, distribution, and transportation, to ensure product availability and minimize operational disruptions.
- Champion sustainability initiatives within the supply chain, ensuring compliance with environmental, social, and governance (ESG) criteria among suppliers.
- Manage the procurement budget systematically, tracking and reporting on cost-saving measures and financial performance metrics.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with operations, culinary, quality assurance, and other departments to ensure procurement strategies meet overarching business requirements.
- Conduct market analysis to stay abreast of global food trends, commodity price changes, and regulatory updates, adjusting strategies accordingly.
- Develop and execute risk management protocols to address potential supply chain disruptions, ensuring business continuity.
- Engage with senior leadership and C-suite executives to align procurement strategies with the overall corporate mission and present key initiatives and performance metrics.
- Actively participate in executing procurement plans, overseeing day-to-day operations, supplier negotiations, and issue resolution.
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field; a Master's degree is preferred.
- Over 10 years of experience in food procurement and supply chain management.
- A minimum of 5 years in a senior leadership capacity within a national and ideally global/multinational company.
- Proven experience in corporate dining services procurement is essential.
- Demonstrated experience in U.S. procurement (beyond regional focus) and international procurement.
- Experience engaging directly with senior leadership and C-suite executives is mandatory.
