Job Description
Job Summary: General Maintenance assists in the performance of duties necessary to keep the physical structure and associated equipment of Hospital in good repair. Performs preventative maintenance on some utilities, life safety inspections (fire extinguishers), and other equipment as qualified. Performs minor mechanical repairs and plumbing, drywall, painting, wallpapering, and other duties relating to maintenance. Performs other duties as needed.
Education and Experience: High School Diploma or GED required. Minimum three years of experience in general repair (carpentry, HVAC, electrical) or hospital-related facility experience required.
Knowledge and Skills: Ability to write routine reports and correspondence; to diagnose and perform maintenance on various machines, equipment and systems required. Ability to work professionally with colleagues in a manner that generates mutual respect and a positive working environment. Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide; calculate percentages, area, circumference and volume. Ability to apply basic concepts of algebra and geometry. Apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral or diagram form.
Licensures and Certifications: Valid Driver's License required at time of hire.
