Description

Under minimal supervision, prepares human tissue for pathologist's examination by cutting, staining, and mounting tissue following established standards and practices.

Required Qualifications

  • H.S. Diploma or GED
  • College coursework at a passing grade or higher from an accredited College or University that includes a minimum of 90 quarter units (60 semester units) with at least 18 quarter units (12 semester units) in biology and 18 quarter units (12 semester units) in chemistry.
  • 3 months Experience in a laboratory setting.

Preferred Qualification

  • Completion or enrollment in a NACCLS accredited histotechnician program.
