Duties
WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING DAY TO DAY
As a Visual Information Specialist, you will use your knowledge of and experience to optimize business results and customer experience by:
- Supporting the organization by producing graphic design products that are consistently creative, research-based, and developed with an audience-first approach in alignment with creative briefs, client goals, industry best practices, and project requirements.
- Developing presentations using commercially available presentation software, including graphics, charts, graphs, and photos.
- Developing infographics, flyers, handouts, in both print and digital form.
- Working collaboratively with colleagues, contractors, and stakeholders, responsible for completing projects based on project criteria, prioritization, and resourcing needs.
- Presenting or overseeing presentation of final concepts and obtaining reviews and approvals for deliverables from clients and stakeholders where appropriate.
- Developing print ready files for printed publications, posters, folders, and media kits.
- Laying out publications using commercially available design software, providing graphics, creating files and instructions for printers, working with printers to ensure quality, and ensuring products are completed on time.

Qualifications
WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
Basic Qualifications: Must meet one of the items listed below:
- Possess an undergraduate or graduate degree with a major study in commercial art, fine arts, art history, industrial design, architecture, drafting, interior design, photography, visual communication, or other fields related to the position. Advanced training in a vocational school, technical institute, or art institute above the high school level in one of the fields listed above is creditable as general experience on a month-for-month basis.

- Experience in the actual type of work for which application is made. Unpaid experience is creditable, provided the work done was of a quality level and demonstrated the ability required for the position. This includes planning the preparation and use of photographs, illustrations, drawings, and other artwork, charts, diagrams, dioramas, maps, slides, overlays, and other kinds of visual material for use in communicating information through visual means.

Minimum Qualifications: You must have one-year specialized experience to perform successfully the duties of the position. To be creditable, specialized experience must have been equivalent to at least the GS-12 grade level in the Federal service performing ALL of the following:
- Developing graphics and graphic design for digital, print, and visual communication products, campaigns, or messaging.
- Creating graphics for multiple platforms including common social media platforms, websites, and/or digital and print products for high level executives, private sector partners, health professionals or the public.
- Creating print ready files for printed publications, posters, folders, and/or media kits using commercially available design software.

If such experience is on a part-time basis, you must provide the average number of hours worked per week as well as the beginning and ending dates of the experience so it can be fully credited.
