Role Accountability

  • Draft, revise and distribute daily production schedules for multiple facilities/multiple shifts.
  • Communicate with departments to ensure that materials, components, etc. are supplied efficiently.
  • Monitor capacity, determine required solutions, and implement necessary modifications in affected departments and teams, notifying plant managers promptly.
  • Collect and analyze data regarding efficiency and timeliness of production.
  • Work with Maintenance department to schedule downtime for preventative maintenance.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Success Factor Snapshot

First 30 days:

  • Develop an intimate understanding of our organization, mission, culture, team, products, clients, and role expectations.
  • Develop a working knowledge and thorough understanding of our scheduling process.

First 60 Days

  • Excel in solo production scheduling, utilizing the established process.
  • Become a power-user of ERP system.
  • First 90 days:
  • Maintain inventory levels within the agreed upon min/max as defined by management which results in product shipping on-time.
  • Create and maintain a flexible Master Production Schedule and become a resource for production and operations personnel.
  • Create and maintain a library of SOP’s for the scheduling procedures.

First 6 Months

  • Identify issues in workflows, recommend, and document solutions and improvements to increase production.
  • Create what-if scenarios to simulate demand change impact.
  • Drive ERP system and data integrity.

Ongoing

  • Perform role in accordance to SOP’s to ensure accuracy between departments and within the organization.
  • Monitor production plan vs. actual output.
  • Proactively manage low level metrics.
  • Responsible for KPI’s including Days of Inventory, On-time Shipments, etc.
  • Participate in monthly/quarterly forecast process.
  • Continuously improve processes to strive towards “World Class” in every way.
  • Work closely with your direct supervisor to align your job’s goals with that of the organization.
  • Report issues with regards to the food safety/quality assurance system (FSQA) to Leadership and adhere to the requirements of the FSQA standards.

Education: High School Diploma or equivalent required.

Experience

  • Advanced knowledge of ERP softwares, Epicor a plus.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication, organizational and attention-to-detail skills highly desired.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills a must.
  • Must be at an intermediate or advanced level in Microsoft Excel and Google Docs.
  • At least one year of experience in food or meat processing production or knowledge of scheduling process preferred.
