RESPONSIBILITIES:
As a Cloud Engineer on our team, you’ll work with the customer to build and maintain a resilient cloud infrastructure supporting a new and exciting Space Situational Awareness (SSA) capability. You’ll build in redundancy, implement monitoring tools, and automate wherever possible. You’ll help reduce mundane, redundant efforts by scripting routine tasks and automating self-repair. This is your chance to leverage your experience with AWS Cloud while assisting senior engineers and broadening your knowledge base to integrate engineering activities.

RESPONSIBILITIES:
As a Cloud Engineer on our team, you’ll work with the customer to build and maintain a resilient cloud infrastructure supporting a new and exciting Space Situational Awareness (SSA) capability. You’ll build in redundancy, implement monitoring tools, and automate wherever possible. You’ll help reduce mundane, redundant efforts by scripting routine tasks and automating self-repair. This is your chance to leverage your experience with AWS Cloud while assisting senior engineers and broadening your knowledge base to integrate engineering activities.
- Understand and leverage cloud automation tools such as CloudFormation and Terraform to provision and manage approved cloud baselines
- Work with Infrastructure as Code managed in Git-based repositories and CI/CD tooling
- Provision cloud accounts for new customers using cloud automation tools
- Provide customer support for cloud application owners
- Help cloud customers navigate the cloud governance process
- Troubleshoot issues within the cloud layer
- Help implement custom permissions
- Provide technical troubleshooting for issues that involve large-scale components and the affected users
- Develop and/or use troubleshooting, monitoring, and reporting tools to analyze the root cause of serious and impactful technical issues and building stable and sustainable solutions and improvements
- Support the Technical Leads to seek solutions for customers and drive tasks toward completion
- Assist with improving the whole lifecycle of operational readiness – from inception and design through deployment, operation, and refinement
- Ensure that technical solutions are scalable is paramount
- Aid in the development of tools, operational improvements, and automated solutions that enable self- service configuration changes, speed deployments, and improve monitoring in support of mission-critical customer-facing applications and environments
- Assist the software engineering team to ensure accurate monitoring and metrics are built into the applications before deployment to production
- Hands-on experience with AWS
- Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or Technical discipline with 2 years of relevant experience
- Desired Technical Skills and Qualifications:
- Experience supporting multi-account AWS environments
- Some IaC desirable, e.g. Terraform, CloudFormation, etc
- Experience with Okta or similar SSO solutions
- Some familiarity with Git/GitOps
- AWS Certification
- Security+ Certification or CISSP
- Experience with NIST SP 800-37, 800-53 preferred
