Experience in Talent Acquisition/Recruitment and/or Human Resources, and healthcare highly preferred.

This is a hybrid position however training will be on-site.

General Summary

The Recruiter will manage the recruitment process for positions designated, ensuring the positions are filled in a timely manner with qualified applicants. In addition the Recruiter will be responsible for developing a diverse applicant pool of qualified candidates.

Requirements

  • Must have at least one year sourcing, recruiting, interviewing and customer service experience.
  • Experience working with the Internet to source candidates.
  • Bachelor’s degree in business or related field preferred.
  • Experience with Applicant Tracking Software.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills required.
  • The ability to multi-task, work effectively and efficiently under high stress, tight deadlines, and high volumes.

Essential Functions & Responsibilities

  • Responsible for developing a diverse applicant pool of qualified candidates, prescreening and interviewing applicants, setting up departmental interviews and follow-up with management staff and candidates after departmental interviews.
  • Coordinate and ensure completion of the job offer/hiring process and facilitating background investigations, complete credential/licensure verifications, reference checks and new hire processing.
  • Upon notification from the department, offer the job to the selected candidate after verifying the starting salary with the department and Compensation Director. Upon acceptance, schedule the employee’s start date, employee health screening and time with the Recruitment Coordinator to complete their new hire paperwork.
  • Network with individuals in an effort to establish/develop/build positive professional relationships and reinforce a positive image of University of Michigan Health-West.
  • Communicate with Administration, Unit Directors and Nurse Managers on regular basics, regarding vacant positions and the status of recruitment objectives.
  • Speak at local colleges and universities regarding health care opportunities.
  • Assist the Recruitment Specialist in the planning and coordination of the summer Student Extern program.
  • Plan, coordinate and participate in recruitment activities.
  • Evaluate and coordinate sourcing of applicants, including advertisements and job fairs.
  • Enter and maintain accurate information, including interview notes in the applicant tracking program.
  • Assists in marketing and communication plans promoting UMH-West employment opportunities.
  • Educate self on process of the hospital, familiar with benefits and other tools to attract candidates.
  • Performs other duties as assigned. These may include but are not limited to: Maintaining a current knowledge base of department processes, protocols and procedures, pursuing self-directed learning and continuing education opportunities, and participating on committees, task forces, and work groups as determined by management.
