About Our Group
The Data Analytics (DA) team in Characterization and Analytics Group develops big data analytics, machine learning (ML) and artificial intelligence (AI) technologies to support R&D design and development activities within Recording Head Technology organization.
About The Role - You Will
Our Normandale campus spans two suburbs, Edina and Bloomington, and serves as the Recording Head development and manufacturing arm of Seagate. Located in the heart of a bustling community, Seagate offers an on-site café, or if you prefer, you can drive to one of many restaurants just minutes away. Need to grab a gift over lunch time? Shopping is abundant in the area. If working out is your thing, the on-site fully equipped fitness center hosts wellness programs, outdoor activities, tournaments and group workouts. Looking for something more laid back? Reset in one of our meditation rooms, or simply take a walk around our indoor walking path. On-site cultural festivals, celebrations and community volunteer opportunities also abound. #internship

About The Role - You Will
- Work closely with R&D engineering teams to build data analytics workflows and processes, develop statistics / physics / ML models that bring insights into value-added analytics.
- Develop GenAI models that transform complex data sets into clear, actionable insights.
- Passionate about data and analytics with AI/ML capabilities.
- Ability to work independently with proven problem-solving skills and out-of-box thinking mindset.
- Good communication and teamwork skills needed in collaborative cross functional team environment.
- Design, develop and deliver data science solutions that exceed expectation.
- Develop python based GenAI, rule-based and ML/DL model on time series data, image data, and parametric data.
- PyTorch or Tensorflow framework.
- Statistics models & ML algorithms such as multi-class classifications, decision trees and deep learning. Image AI, computer vision, OpenCV and TensorFlow.
- Master degree or PhD degree graduate student in Computer Science Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or Physics fields, and must be enrolled in Fall 2025 classes.
