Your Impact:
The Production Technician previews menu & assembles food & supplies needed for preparation of meals. Prepares, seasons, cooks’ proteins, vegetables and starches for lunch, supper & special meals. This includes following recipes and/or product directions for preparing seasoning, cooking, tasting, carving, assembling, and serving soups, meats, vegetables, starch, cold salads, desserts, and other foodstuffs. Ensures that all foods prepared meet existing standard for quality, freshness, taste, and appearance. Uses a variety of kitchen utensils & equipment including slicers, mixers & blenders. Plans & coordinates cooking schedules so that foods will be ready at required times. Assists with care & maintenance of department equipment & supplies. Signs off on cleaning assignments. Ensures that required sanitary levels are maintained throughout food preparation process. Documents all food temperatures. Demonstrates/models Service Excellence Standards of Performance in interactions with all customers (internal & external). If assigned operate the cash register and make change accurately within the parameters of the cash handling policy. Performs other duties as assigned. As the Production technician you are delegated the administrative authority, responsibility, and accountability necessary for performing your assigned duties. What You'll Do:
- Follows basic recipes and/ or product directions for preparing, seasoning, cooking, tasting, carving and serving soups, meats, vegetables, desserts and other foodstuffs as directed.
- Utilizes culinary skills by measuring and mixing ingredients washing, peeling, cutting and shredding fruits and vegetables. Trims and cuts meat, poultry or fish.
- Keep records to plan production with accuracy.
- Salad preparation includes washing all produce prior to use. Labels and dates all stored food. Keeps cold foods in the refrigerator when not in use.
- Able to list the temperature danger zone for at risk foods.
What We Are Looking For:
- Relevant experience in Dining Services to ensure that the requirements of this position can be fully met.
- Sanitation Certification (Serv-Safe) recommended
- Must function independently and have flexibility, personal integrity, and the ability to work effectively with residents, personnel and support agencies.
Pay Rate for this Role: $16.09/ hour
